code consists of a two digit number identifying the year the field was final seeded,
• followed by either a single number or a combination number end letter (eg, -1 or -1a).
The single number or combination number and letter is unique to each field and represents
varying reclamation treatments, season of seeding within a year, or separate physical
location of units on the reclaimed landscape which otherwise ere similar.
Reclamation Bonding
Mr. Larl Mount (CMLRD) in a letter dated September 11, 1940 to Nr. James Lunan (PCC)
requested that certain bond recalculations be performed to determine if the bond submitted
with Technical Revision 14 was adequate for spoil bec kfilling and grading in [he loner end
of the Yadge mining area. The bond recalculation was to be submitted in the form of a
technical revision. After subsequent correspondence, Mr. Nount withdrew the request for a
technical revision end requested this information be submitted with the Annual Reclamation
Report. The following details Peabody~a current liability end shows whether the current
bond is sufficient to beckf ill and grade the Yadge spoil end associated dregline benches.
In order to determine the current reclamation bond liability at the Seneca II Mine, brief
calculations were completed to ascertain the current disturbance area. Even though
• reclamation operations are current within one or two spoils, es shown by Exhibit 90.1, the
worst rase scenario of 4 spoil piles was used for areas that have not yet been recorded as
graded. The information shown on Table 7 covers the major categories involved in the
reclamation operations. Nethodot ogies ere the same es presented in the Seneca II PAP and
unit costs were taken from the Seneca II-Y PR-1 reclamation estimate.

The current reclamation bonds held by CN LRD total 514,381,623. The estimated
calculations in Table 7 show that the mine could be reclaimed for approximately
55,116,665. In the near future Peabody intends to present ell necessary maps end
calculations to support a bond recalculation or release. Peabody requests that additional
bond not be submitted at this time for the spoil grading et the lower end of the Yadge
pits based on this information.
Sedimentation Pond Surveys
Peabody is required by C-80-005 to monitor sedimentation ponds for sediment storage
capacities. In TR-15, CLNRD approved a schedule to conduct sediment surveys for the ponds
at Seneca II Mine.
6
