However, the leachate was not analyzed for Cu and Zn.
Please supply the Cu and Zn numbers for the leachate.
The Humidity Cell test results for the head sample indicate with
the low acidity, low sulfate and near neutral pH numbers that acid
generation is unlikely. However, there are not. metals analyses of
the leachates included. This data will be important in determining
if any of the metals of concern are generated by surface leaching
conditions.
The Division is not particularly concerned about the barium levels
in the the head sample.
Composite Tails Sample
Only a portion of the whole rock data was supplied for the Cross
Mine composite tails sample. The results, not surprisingly, look
very similar to the head sample. The Division looks forward to
obtaining the bulk of the geochemical data on this sample. Perhaps
the Division comments on the head sample could be taken into
account when directing the lab on the information required for the
tails sample.
Please contact me if you should have any questions regarding this
preliminary review. I do feel a meeting with you to discuss the
current testing and results would be a good idea.
Sinc ely,
1
William C.
