For various reasons, the report submittal had been delayed for approximately 10 months.
A few discrepancies were noted with respect to the reported data. Flow data for gaging stations
SWGS-02 and 03 during July and August, 1996, was missing. For SWGS-02, the problem was
apparently due to a problem with the recorder, which was subsequently repaired. For SWGS-03,
it would appeaz that the missing data was due to flow level below the minimum recording level.
These problems aze referenced briefly on page 2 of the report narrative. It was also noted that
sodium adsorption ration (SAR) was not reported in the annual full suite analyses for minewater
dischazge samples for NPDS-001, 002, and 004, although analytical parameters needed to
calculate SAR were reported. It has been noted that SAR was reported as required in the 1997
AHR. The report was in general compliance with permit and regulatory requirements, and
indicates that observed impacts are in compliance with probable hydrologic consequences
projections contained in the permit.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely, ~~
Dan .Mathews
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Denver AHR File
rside\96ahr.ltr
