TEL No. <br />0. 0 111 P.02 <br />DRAFT <br />DATE: December 9, 1998 <br />70: Janet Binns <br />FROM: Jim Pendleton <br />RE: Foidel Creek Mine - First & Second Half, <br />1997 Subsidence Reports <br />(Permit No: C-82-056) <br />have finally reviewed the 1997 subsidence reports you forwarded for the <br />Foidel. Creek mine. I apologize for the tardiness caused by my <br />preoccupation with the Summitville remediation. Twenty Mile Coal <br />Company submitted its semi-annual "First-Half Subsidence Monitoring <br />Report for 1997" and the corresponding "Second-Half Subsidence <br />Monitoring Report for 1997". These reports present survey data and visual <br />reconnaissance monitoring reports for the affected structures and Foidel <br />Creels. The methodology and procedures used in preparing both documents <br />appear appropriate and in compliance with the permit requirements. <br />The structures monitored during the reported period include Routt County <br />Road #33, the Union Pacific railroad spur track, two high voltage electric <br />transmission lines. Foidel Creek was also inspected and profiled above <br />Panel 8 Right, which was subsided during the report period. <br />The First-Half report appears appropriate and thorough.
