ALBERT FRET & SONS, INC,~
SAND AND GRAVEL
S
GENERAL OFFICES AND CLANT `-!" m
11521 BRIGH70N ROAD • HENDERSON, COLORAD080840
(303) 289-1837
(303) 2P9.2865 -FAX
__ ~
JUN 2 3 P~U5
June 27, 2005
Mr. Carl Mount
Division of Minerals and Geology
Minerals Section
1313 Sherman Street Suite 215
Denver, Colorado 80203-2273
Dear Mr. Mount:
Re: Walstrum Mine, M.L.R. Permit
No. M-198333, Annual Report /
Our files indicate that the anniversary date for this permit is
June 23. This pit xas xox been granted a Temporary Cessation and it xAs
operated more than 180 days this year. The Financial Warranty for
this operation was reviewed in 2004 and at $741,500 was determined to
be adequate. The permitted area is 292.07 ac. ± and the pit is
divided into 6 Reclamation Phases. R sign that conforms with rule
3.1.12 Sxcxs AND MAttxsns is at the entrance to the quarry on the scale
house. Please refer to the 2004-05 Annual Report Map for the location
of areas discussed in this report. This is a quarry operation, as a
result we remove large amounts of material without disturbing large
areas of land. The oil & fuel spill containment units have been
completed and installed on the oil and fuel tanks for this mine.
We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report require-
ments as outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations, and the
annual notice letter.
(1) Total disturbance to date in Stage I remains at 69.44 acres ±.
We mined deeper along the face this year lowering benches and
have begun to mine in part of the area stripped last year. The
upper 5 benches in the eastern part of the mined area have been
completed (green). As the face moved east more floor area was
created. The current face area covers approximately 28.62 acres
± (brown). Mining continued on the area previously stripped in
Phase I, this includes the floor area (orange), and the working
face (brown). We have continued to retain fill in the secondary
access corridor as approved in the plan and a second topsoil
storage pile was established north of the mined area that covers
7.27 acres t (yellow). The stripped area on the southern part of
the mine remains unchanged from last year (purple).
(2) The upper 5 benches covering 2.91 acres that will remain undis-
turbed from this time forward are partially reclaimed (green).
