There was no detectable effect of mining on flows in Cottonwood and Rapid Creeks.
Mining ceased at the Roadside Portals on December 2, 1999. No further mining from
either portal is anticipated in the foreseeable future.
Consumptive use will be insignificant in the future because mining and washing of coal
has ceased. Consumptive use will be for dust control during reclamation operations.
