During October 2003, water treatment plant sludge was removed from water treatment
pond #4 (old pond 2). This sludge was removed from the pond and directly transported
to the tailing facility. Direct transfer of the sludge was facilitated by the length of time
the sludge was allowed to dewater while in storage within the pond. Table 3 below
identifies water treatment plant sludge management for calendar year 2003 to date.
