June 30, 1992
Page 7

identified, however, future monitoring may help define any
increasing trend. Spring and Fall testing may help to identify high
manganese and iron to be a seasonal phenomenon.
CYCC Response
No response required.
MLRD Concern
Surface Water
Sites 14, 800, 8 and 900 show somewhat elevated values with regard
to conductivity and/or dissolved solids and/or sulfate. Sites 700
and 301 are good quality sites, both of which receive little or no
runoff rrcm CYCC mining activities. Site 1002 on Fish Creek and
Site 69 on Trout Creek are downstream of all CYCC Twentymile Park
mining activities and, at this time, neither show emerging trends
or elevated readings leading toward material damage.
CYCC Response
No response required.
MLRD Concern
Spoil Springs
1. Cadmium and Mercury values are missing for the September 1990
sample. Please explain.
CYCC Response
Mercury values for all spoil springs were below 0.1 ug/1 during the
period in question, but were not reported due to a flaw in the
report generation. Cadmium values for the spoil springs during the
period in question were inadvertently missed by the lab, and steps
to rectify the situation were taken some time ago. Subsequent
analysis conducted for spoil springs have included cadmium as
required. CYCC apologizes for this oversight, and assures the
Division that the matter has been addressed.
MLRD Concern
2. Spoil spring C1 flowed 170 gpm in May, yet did not get a full
suite analvsis. Please explain this discrepancv.
