Mr. Basil Bear <br />Bear Coal Company <br />Page 3 <br />November 20, 1997 <br />from the Bear No. 3 Mine during 1996, the Division requests that the Bear Coal <br />Company submit a revision to the permit application package to update the Probable <br />Hydrologic Consequences (PHC) portion of the permit document. At a minimum <br />the following specific topics should be reviewed and updated: I) groundwater <br />inflows to abandoned mine workings, 2) dischazge of mine water to the North fork <br />of the Gunnison River, and 3) the potential for discharge of mine water due to <br />increased landslide activity in the vicinity of the Bear No. 3 Mine.
