As recommended last year, raptor perches have been erected to reduce rodent activity.
' 2. A partial blockage of the principal spillway outfall was cleared at the time of the inspection.
Maintenance Required:
' 1. Remove accumulated sediment from the pond.
2. Compact gopher burrows, uncover and compact the prairie dog burtow, with in-situ backfill to dam
' construction specifications.
3. Reseed disturbed and unvegetated areas.
' Recommend:
' At a time of high water, the areas of burtow aaivity should be probed to determine if seepage is occurring
(no seepage or signs of prior seepage were noted during this inspection).
Although perches are used by raptors, raptors have not halted rodent burrowing aaivity. Recommend
' additional measures be taken to stop burrowing on the pond embankments.
' Chimney Rock Mine Pond #002 Inspection Report & Certification, 18 November 1994, Page 2 of 6
1
