i' l
r
• ~'.
The areas seeded during 1992 are shown as areas 3R and 4R on Figure 1, Refuse Disposal Site
1992 Reclamation Map.
No augmented seeding or culture] practices were done during the period of this report. A concern
about woody plant establishment on the refuse pile was raised by OMLR following review of EFCI's 1991
Annual Reclamation Report. EFCI subsequently committed to transplanting shrubs on the refuse pile during
1993 in accordance with the permit application.
Previous permanent revegetated areas are primarily located on the coal refuse pile. A total of
approximately 8.2 acres of topsoiled refuse pile has been revegetated prior to 1992. The locations and dates
of said revegetation ate shown in detail an Figure 1, Refuse Disposal Site 1992 Reclamation Map.
EFCI did not perform any additional monitoring of reclaimed areas during the reporting period.
Conclusions
Southfield's reclamation program is accomplishing timely completion of permanent reclamation
within the scope of active mining operations in order to minimize overall disturbed area and promote
establishment of the sirte to its approved post-mining land use. In addition, EFCI's approved monitoring
plan adequately monitors the reclamation process and its level of success.
