consistent with their normal and accepted schedule of fees. <br />A public liability and property damage umbrella insurance policy <br />in the amount of $2 million has been kept in full force. Asphalt <br />Paving Co, agrees to actively pursue an operating policy that <br />continually operates within all applicable rules, regulations and <br />statutes of any county, state or federal agency having <br />jurisdiction over any aspect of the operation. <br />Water spray bars continue to be in operation and are installed at <br />dust producing points in the crushing operation. Water trucks <br />continue to spray the stockpiles, the stockpile areas and the <br />quarry floor as well as those areas which have been revegetated, <br />All access roads have been paved eliminating the need for water <br />trucks on the quarry access roads. Asphalt Paving Co. continues <br />to try to be advised of the latest technology for new methods of <br />dust control. In recognizing our obligations to the Board, when <br />new technology is available, we will continue to avail ourselves <br />of it. In the event of extreme wind conditions, Asphalt Paving <br />Co, continues to shut down its entire crushing operation. <br />A report identifying the crushing days of operation and <br />identifying all days on which the detonation of blasting <br />materials within 200' of ground surface is included in this <br />annual report. <br />Also included is a progress report on the reclamation identifying <br />areas being reclaimed, the areas in which reclamation is complete <br />and the success and failure of these efforts. Also included in <br />this annual report is a report on the seismic monitoring of the <br />operation. <br />This report also includes a summary of transportation activities <br />on how material was transported off the site. We would request <br />that this information remain confidential and precluded from <br />disclosure until the mining operation is terminated. <br />Hydrology: We are not aware of any adverse impacts of the <br />operation on the hydrologic cycle. There is no significant <br />erosion problem and any sedimentation collected has been reused <br />in topsoil applications to sustain new plant life. It is our <br />opinion that the operation is sensitive to this cycle and has <br />improved vegetation. <br />Any complaints directed specifically to Asphalt Paving Co. have <br />been dealt with properly and in a timely manner so as to <br />eliminate any potential problems that may arise. This Company <br />recognizes its responsibility to constantly be aware of any and <br />all suggested methods for improvement and pledges its continued <br />best effort for a professional operation. We would note, <br />however, we are not aware of any specific complaints directed <br />toward Asphalt Paving Co. involving any of our Quarry activities. <br />• 6 <br />
