•
This water line allows uninterrupted water acquisition from a
• completely controlled source. This, in turn, enables Asphalt
Paving Co. to insure water distribution throughout the quarry
operation. This facility now provides complete control of the
needed water to operate Ralston Quarry with an acceptable degree
of professionalism as well as the strong, established commitment
Asphalt Paving Co. has to Jefferson County.
Air Quality: Asphalt Paving Co. continues to recognize its
obligation to comply with the applicable air quality standards
and regulations set by the Colorado Air Quality Control
Commission. Asphalt Paving Co. continues to hold all appropriate
permits which have been issued for its operation and will work
hard toward compliance with State standards. We have not
received any air quality violation notices from any agencies.
Our superintendent is instructed to notify Jefferson County if he
anticipates any "upset" conditions.
Hours of Operation: The hours of operation 6:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m., Monday through Saturday, with only repair work permitted on
Sunday, continues to be the rule of our operations. No complete
crusher system has been operated prior to 6:00 a.m. or after 6:00
p.m. All crushers, screening plants and conveyors are of the
portable type. All efforts have been made by in-house
maintenance personnel to equip our equipment with the latest
noise reducing suppressant equipment.
• All air track drills and compressors are of the recent model and
incorporate the manufacturers' latest technology. The air track
drills and compressor combinations have operated between the
hours of 6:00 a.m, and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. It
has not been necessary to blast prior to 8:00 a.m. nor after 5:00
p.m. as a result of any emergency condition. Asphalt Paving Co.
continues to recognize its obligation to notify the Board of
Adjustment or its agents if these time restrictions are exceeded,
as a result of an emergency or unforeseen difficulty. Asphalt
~ Paving Co. has not double-shifted any of its crushing or trucking
operations during the past year and has not found it necessary to
give the 20 days notice to the Jefferson County Zoning
Administration, the Jefferson County School District R-1 or the
City of Golden. However, economic conditions at the present time
indicate that this will change sometime in the near future. With
the construction activity at the new Denver Airport picking up
and the runway construction about to commence, Asphalt Paving
Co. anticipates involvement in same.
Blasting: Test monitoring stations are established and are
operated on a portable basis to insure the structural integrity
of the improvements adjacent to the quarry site. As per the
analyzation of VME and its report documentation, ground motion
and noise have not exceeded the 2" per second allowed. Noise
level measurements conducted by MSHA have not exceeded those
• 3
