Permittee Name; Lakewood Brick and Tile Co. Page 2
Permit No: M-79-045
Operation Name: Church Pit
Anniversary Date: 02/28/2007
(3) Clay - Mining will continue in Stage I or Stage II, no new area
will be disturbed this year because we are mining in the area
stripped in previous years. We will continue to deepen the
bottom of the mine into the clay veins exposed in the past and
advance the face to the north as approved. Processing will
continue in the Clay Plant Site Area in Stage 0 (purple). We
will begin to removed overburden on the east side of the clay
deposit to expose additional clay in that area. The clay is
being removed from the storage pile on the east side of Stage II
(tan). It is blended with the clay from this mine at our brick
plant in Lakewood.
Gravel - Mining will continue in Stage A and will progress to the
east and north. Processing will be done in the area east of the
old Clay pit. As the perimeter of the mine is reached sloping
will begin as approved in the approved plan. Mining will con-
tinue to removed material between the Church Pit and the Rocky
Flats Pit as approved in the permit. No sloping will be required
in this area that separates the mines. Growth medium will be
stockpiled along the mine perimeter for use in reclamation.
(4) No reclamation is called for during the next year. However,
backfilling will continue on the slopes in the old clay pit. The
waste material from gravel processing will be used to construct
the south mine slope from the original ground level to the pit
floor. We will continue to fill the north slope of the old clay
pit and begin to do sloping on the east side if the gravel opera-
tor removes the overburden pile next to the face on that side.
If the opportunity to sell rock from the southwest overburden
pile occurs, that removal will continue as well.
(5) CIIRRBNT CONTACT
Thomas J.
