Each is mined by a different operator under
this single permit. This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary Cessa-
tion and it HAS operated more than 180 days this year. The approved
bond amount is $84,200 covering 75.74 acres t, and the facility has
seven mining and reclamation phases. Please refer to the attached
2006-2007 Annual Report Map for the areas discussed in this text.
We will deal specifically with the Annual Report requirements as
outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations and those noted in
the annual letter.
{1) Clay - No new area was disturbed by the clay mining operation
this year. We continued to mine deeper on approximately 2.01
acres (///) on the land previously disturbed (blue) north of the
ditches in Stage II. Approximately 23.21 acres is disturbed by
the clay operation in Stages O, I and II. This included the old
clay mined area south of the ditches, the Clay Plant Site (pur-
ple) and the storage area (tan).
Gravel - A total o£ 12.75 acres is being used as plant site area
in Stage A (orange). Mining continues along the east side of
Stage A marked with the following hatching symbol (///), it cover
4.53 ac. ±. The gravel operation has disturbed 28.42 acres ± in
the mine (\\\). Mining was limited this year as most of the
gravel mined came from the Rocky Flats Pit. They continued to
mine deeper into the deposit and blend the floor of the mines
along the eastern permit boundary. Some waste rock was removed
for use by the mineral owners from the southwest prelaw stockpile
area.
(2) No reclamation was required this year. Filling continued on the
old clay mining area in the green areas shown in Stage O. No
additional reclamation is required until mining for both materi-
als is completed in any given stage.
