• 5. OVERBURDEN SAMPLING
A. IN-PIT SAMPLING
Requirement
As outlined in the September 28, 1982 Colowvo Findings and
Proposed Decision to Approve Permit. File No. C-019-81, the
January 4, 1983 minor revision, the August 11, 1983 minor
revision and the February 26, 1990 minor revision, Colowyo
continues to sample overburden in-pit prior to mining.
Response
UY and LY truck/shovel lifts and Section it dragline
overburden continue to be monitored during 1991. Analysis of
this overburden monitoring program conducted during 1991,
showed consistent results with previous years.
Data from the analysis of the truck/shovel overburden
samples are found in Exhibit 11. Section 11 overburden
• analysis can be found in Exhibit 12. Sample locations are
plotted on the 1991 Annual Reclamation Report Map found in
Exhibit 14.
The data obtained from the analysis of the truck/shovel
overburden sampling indicates no unacceptable material.
The data obtained from the analysis of the Section 11
overburden sampling indicates a number of samples with
elevated SAR values. This overburden material was scheduled
to be covered by the truck/shovel overburden in the normal
course of reclamation activities. See the following Regraded
Area Sampling Section for details regarding the quality of
spoil materials on the reclaimed surface.
•
8
