BOX 2182 <br />DURANG O, COLORADO 87302 <br />September 17, 1985 <br />OFFICE !09 2470118 <br />RESIDENCE 1479980 <br />TO: Caryl Helmin, General Manager, National King Coal, Inc. <br />SUBJECT: Quarterly Subsidence Monitoring, Third Quarter 1985 <br />1) The third quarterly visual inspection for subsidence, King <br />Coal Mine, La Plata County, Colorado was made on September 12, <br />1985. <br />2) The inspection was made by Fred M. Johnson, C.P.G. and <br />Clifford M. Schmid, L.S. <br />3) No settling could be detected visually. Surface was inspected <br />for shearing of bedrock and soil mantle, vegetation damage and <br />slump. Earlier shear fracture was inspected. <br />4) No new evidence of subsidence is apparent. <br />The surface area above both old and current workings was. <br />inspected on September 12, 1984. The purpose of the inspection <br />was to meet requirements established by the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Division for quarterly monitoring of the surface of <br />the King Coal Mine for subsidence. <br />., <br />~, ., i . <br />~i; ~! <br />_ ..Fred M.
