Activities during the late summer and fall of 2004 addressed maintenance and repair of facilities impacted
by a 100-yr 24-hr storm event in early August. Ponds 8 and 9 were most severely affected with discharge
flaws exceeding the capacities of their respective emergency spillways. This resuited in some erosional
damage to the embankment outslopes. The armored downdrains of Fills 7, 8 and 9 all received erosional
damage with Fill 8 most severely impacted. Damages to the ponds and fills were repaired with only
minimal work remaining to be completed in 2005. Pond 9 filled with sediment and is scheduled to be
cleaned during the winter dry months in 2005. Seeding of the areas impacted with maintenance work will
be completed in the spring of 2005.
Hydrologic monitoring continued through 2004 in accordance with the approved Hydrologic Monitoring
Plan.
If you have any questions or require further information regarding 2004 reclamation activities, please
contact me.
Sincerely,
Ron Thompson
Enclosures:
CDMG Annual Report Form
Table ARR-1
Table ARR-2
Map ARR-1
