page.2_
Mrs. Barbara Chiappone
Division of Minerals and Geology
Annual Permit Letter and Renewal

We employed a graduate student from the Colorado School of Mines and are firlly
sponsoring her thesis program which is entitled "Mineralogic and Geochemical Study of
Precious Metal Mineralization at the Cross Gold Mine, Boulder County, Colorado". The
final thesis will be completed in August of 1994 and will provide us with invaluably; data
cn the mineral composition of the Cross Mine ores over a broad vertical and horizontal
extent.
We had our first ever Airborne Geophysics magnetometer study completed by Aerodat
of Toronto, Ontario Canada in September.
October Ol, 1993 -November 04, 1993 -Underground mine development work halted
until a mill situation could be found. Long hole drilling commenced on the tunnel level
Apache vein. Equipment to allow underground core drilling was also obtained and a core
drilling program commenced in November along the tunnel level Apache vein system. This
program is currently in progress. Preparations were started to provide logistics to allow
for the drilling of one surface core hole in November by Norex Drilling of Porcupine,
On*.ario Canada. This hole was drilled at a previous core site pad and an area less than
900 square feet was affected. Hendricks Mining Co. has always reclaimed these small drill
sites to meet above average environmental standards.
At the present time we employ three full-time employees on the underground core
drilling program and on maintenance programs, one partime employee who runs eiTands
and works with our geological staff, one senior geologic consultant, one graduate student
geologist and myself who is envolved in all phases of the operation on a full-time t~asis.
During the 1994 operation year I look for us to continue primarily as an exploration
project. Both surface and underground core drilling is planned. We will apply for any
permits that might be required for any significant surface core drilling activity. We will
also be conducting surface and underground sampling and mapping work at both the
Cross Gold Mine and Caribou district mines. The small scale underground mine program
on the tunnel level Apache vein may resume in 1994 if a suitable milling arrangem~;nt can
be found. At the present time that remains an unknown.
We expect to continue construction and improvement work on our water discharge
systems throughout 1994. In fact I'm currently drafting a projected budget for this work
that will significantly surpass our previous work in this area.
We would like to amend our permit to enable us to classify our main shop buil~Iing and
iar~;e green steel shop building as permanent structures. Our two residence cabins are
pi otected under Boulder County Historic Preservation rules.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require any additional data. We look
forward to working with The Division of Minerals and Geology in the future as we have in
the past. My small company is dedicated to excellence in environmental quality and we
will commit ourselves to doing things right at the beginning to avoid any mistakes in the
future.
