Long
Division Direcmr
The Division of Minerals and Geology received a portion of the data to be incorporated
into the 1994 Annual Hydrology Report (AHR) on August 8, 199:1. The due date for
submittal of the AHR has been extended 8 times, at the Cyprus Empire's request. In order
to assess the impacts of mining to the hydrologic balance, it is necessary for the Division to
review the AHR in a timely manner. On page 2.05.6-4, Cyprus states that the AHR will
include piezometric maps, statement concerning observed inflows from the floor in the
active sections during the preceding year, plots of water levels and appropriate water quality
trends. Please submit the 1994 AHR to the Division by September 29, 1995.
Information submitted on August 8, 1995 included the water quantity and quality data from
each monitoring site, and three piezometric maps for the Williams Fork Alluvium, Middle
Sandstone and Twentymile Sandstone. Some of the monitoring data was not included in
recent submittal and should be submitted to the Division by September 29, 1995. The
following monitoring data needs to be submitted to the Division;
1. On Table 1 titled, Ground Water Well Sampling, the annual ground water
parameters were not submitted for well TR-7A (parameters noted on Table 8).
2. Table 2 titled, Surface Water Stream Sampling, no Flow rates were noted for
Williams Fork (WF2).
3. Table 2 titled, Surface Water Stream Sampling, Acidity (CaC03) and Chloride were
not monitored on the firs[ quarter report for Williams Fork upstream and
downstream (WFl and WF2).
