Long
Division Dveaor
RE: 1992 Annual Hydrology Report, Annual Subsidence Report, and Mine Inflow
Report Review, Permit No. C-81-038
Dear Mr. Koehler:
The Division has completed its review of the reports identified above. Please
respond as appropriate within 90 days of receipt of this correspondence.
Annual Hydrology Report
General Comments
The Division requested that sites UERC and LERC be added to the
appropriate map. We are still unable to locate these stations on a map.
Please identify the location of these two stations by adding them to Map
4-l.
2. Site MW No. 1 is shown at two separate locations on Map 8-3. .Please
clarify.
3. Figure 16 indicates conductivities in the range of 1-6 umhos/cm. This is
most certainly an error. Should the scale read mmhoslcm?
4. Figures 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 17, 21, 22, 24, 25, 30, and 36 show a dramatic
drop in recorded EC values from 1989 to 1990. What is the origin of this
discrepancy?
5. The text from the bottom of page 6 to the top of page 7 in the AHR does
not flow. How should it read?
Monitoring Frequency
1. Compliance with monitoring frequency was very poor in 1992. The Division
is currently pursuing enforcement action.
Water Quality
1. No evidence of degrading water quality is observed; however, this
conclusion is based on limited information. Water quality is generally
very good and continues to be suitable for current and intended uses.
