Historical soil replacement <br /> thickness information Eor the 1984 thr ough 1992 reclamation blocks is presented in Table 9- <br /> 9-3, Attachment 9-4, Tab 9 of Permit C ~80~005, the Second, Third, and Fourth Ann ual Topsoil <br /> and Spoil Monitoring Reports Eor the 1987, 1988, and 1989 field seasons, and the Annual <br /> Reclamation Reports (PCC, 1988; 1989; 1990; 1992; PWCC, 1993, 1999, 19951. <br />One small area (0.73 acres) had topsoil replaced in 1996. No sample depths were recorded <br />Eor this area. This area is shrub plot 963. <br />Soil Balance <br />Seneca submitted a soil balance with the 1995 Annual Relcamation Aepor t. Subsequently, the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has requested a final reclamation plan and soil <br />balance be submitted as a technical revision to Permit C-80-005. This revision will be <br />submitted by June 1997. Hence, no soil balance ie submitted with this 1996 Annual <br />Reclamation Report. <br /> Soil Salvage, Storage and Replacement <br />• Soil salvage (die turbancel areas and sail stockpil ee sites as of December 31, 1996 are <br /> shown on Exhibit 9-3a, from the 1995 Annual Reclamation Report . Topsoil stockpile volume <br /> information is presented in Table 96.1. Approximately 379. 7 acre-feet of soil was <br /> stockpiled as of December 31, 1996. <br />Soil Redistribution Thickness Updated <br />Seneca Coal Company will submit the final reclamation plan by June 1997 detailing the <br />topsoil redistribution plan. <br />Revege to lion <br />Seeding and Shrub Planting. Permanent revegetation activities in 1996 included planting <br />and seeding of shrubs ae described below, and drill seeding with permanent Seed Mix pl (see <br />Table 96.31. The area around stock tanks T-28, T-12, T-4 were seeded during 1996. A total <br />of 16,657 shrub seedlings were planted in A concentrated planting areas in 1996 (tea <br />Drawing 5296~4A, Shrub Plots). Table 96.2, lists planting areas, approximate acreages, <br />species composition of each area, and the total numbers planted by species for each area. <br />All plant materials were one-year-old containerized nursery stock developed Erom <br />• chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), serviceberry (Amelanchier alnifolial, and Gambel oak <br />(puercus gambeliil seed collected from the Seneca II mine site.
