© Ms. Sarrh'a Brown
Di'usran cf Mirt+ssls and C,m'~
/ma.~,,, i3, ?ooo
Pale 3
the southeastern edge of the facilities pad. Excess topsoil was hauled from the mine area and
spread 6 inches deep over the Loadout area. The area was then seeded with the approved
permanent seed mix.
The remaining 6.4 acres contain perrrtanent facilities and the sediment pond.
11.0 GRAZING
No livestock grazing occurred during 1999 due to problems with timing and coordination with the
local adjacent ranching operator who has been involved in the grazing program in the past. Fast
the grazing had to be dela}~ed to accommodate the required revegetation success study. Next the
ranch changed ownership and the grazutg pattern changed (cattle were pastured further from mine
during the summer). Then it was anticipated that cattle could be put on the area for a limited
amount of time during the fall, but coordination and timing with the new ranch manager did not
work out. Therefore, no grazing was conducted in 1999.
Kerr anticipates being able to work out the coordination and timing with the rancher and that
grazing will take place in 2000.
12.0 REVEGETATION SUCCESS EVALUATION
Revegetation success sampling was completed, in 1999, on the pre-1986, 1995 and 1996 reclaimed
areas. The results of this sampling aze contained in a draft report prepared by ESCO Associates
Inc. The results of this monitoring repon will be forwarded to the DMG in the near future.
Based on the results determined from this sampling effort Kerr will decide if another revegetation
sampling is warranted For the yEaz 2000.
13.0 TOTAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY
Following is a table s„rnrry?ri~~ng the total disturbance at the Marr Mme and Loadout.
