WATER MONITORING
Four primary locations and one water level only location on Foidel Creek in
the vicinity of Mine 1 is monitored. Station 14 is upstream of the effects
of all mining ar_tivities in the area. USGS Station 09243800 (Station 800)
is a short distance downstream of Station 14 and the unnamed tributary and
is downstream of a large area. of spoil springs. Station 8 is a short
distance downstream of Mine No. 1 and the Foidel Creek underground mine.
Water quality samples are collected upstream of the nitrate loadout out and
flow readings are taken downstream of the nitrate loadout. USGS Station
09243900 (Station 900) is located upstream of the confluence of Foidel and
Middle Creeks. A water level only station (304) is located near Well
008-AV-2. Two primary locations on Fish Creek are monitored. Station
1001 was located upstream of where Fish Creek enters Twentymile Park. It
has been replaced by Station 16 which is located immediately downstream of
where fish Creek enters the south end of Twentymile Park. Station 1002 is
located on Fish Creek about one-half way through its reach in Twentymile
Park and downstream of Mine No. 2. One water level only station (307) is
located near 4Jell 006-AZ-3. One station on hliddle Creek is monitored. It
is located upstream of Mine No. 3 and USGS Station 09423700 (Station 700).
Two locations on Trout CreeY, ar•e monitored. Station G9 is located below the
confluence with Middle Creek to wlric;h Foidel Creek is tributary. Station
301 is located upstream of the confluence of Middle and Trout Creeks.
Flows
1

1
1
1
1
Due to the size of ttre stream, they must be rated instead of using a more
accurate controlled section such as a flume. The USGS maintains continuous
recorders at, Station 700 to 800 and 900. Plots of the historic flow
measurements rm Foidel Creek are presented on Figures 21 to 27 and Figure
45. Plots of the historic flox measurement on Middle Creek are presented on
Figures 28 grid 29. PTots of fristorir. flow measurements on Fish Creek are
presented on Figures 30 and 31. Plots of the historic flow measurements on
Trout Creek are presented on Figures 32 and 33. The flow rate data is
summarized on Table 30. The data shows the typical seasonal variation with
' - 6 -
