I
Colowyo proposes to establish both a new surface water
monitoring location (New Upper Good Spring) and a new alluvial
groundwater monitoring location (A6 Updip Alluvial Well)
upstream and up gradient from all mining activities.
Specifics of the proposed water monitoring sites are detailed
in Exhibit 7, Hydrology Information, Item S0, with the
location of all sampling sites shown on Map 37.
24) Information from Monitoring Wells
Response
Monitoring wells lOlE, lO1V, and 102V were dry wells,
therefore, no water quality data has ever existed. Also, well
102V has been mined through and no longer exists.
25) Locate Monitoring Locations
Response
Page 4.05-2 is now corrected to reference Section 4.05.13,
Surface and Groundwater Monitoring. Water monitoring
locations are shown on Map 37, Water Monitoring Sites for
Permit No. C-019-81
26) Monitoring Wells near Proposed Prospect Pond
Response
The monitoring wells near the proposed Prospect Pond were
wells drilled by Consolidation Coal Company for their
Groundwater Baseline Report, Danforth Hills Coal Lease. On
October 27, 1991, Consolidation Coal Company cemented and
reclaimed these two wells in a manner that will not compromise
the proposed Prospect Pond. Colowyo has no intention to
replace these wells at this location.
27) Modification to the Diagrams for the Proposed Prospect and
West Pit Ponds
Res onse
The Prospect and West Pit pond diagrams will be modified to
conform to Rules 2.05.3(4)(b), 4.05.6 and 4.05:9 if
applicable. These diagrams can be found in Exhibit 7, Item 8.
8
