Memo to PCPC
Re: SUP No. 592
July 21, 1987
Page Two '
3• The owner require proof from pit lessee that crushing
and/or screening operations have an emissions permit
served by the Colorado Department of Health.
4. Special Use Permit No. 592 be placed on a one-year
review.
The extraction operation has not created a pit. It involves the
lowering of a small ridge and knoll through the ripping (with a
dozer) of the weathered granite that forms the ridge and knoll
(see Exhibits 2 and 3)•
COMMENTS
Condition 1 (MLRB Permit):
Staff learned from the MSned Land Reclamation Division
July 17, 1987 that the applicant obtained a 110 permit
(number M-86-101) from them September 12, 1986. They
have received no complaints about the pit's operation
to date. To satisfy condition 1, the applicant must
submit proof of the permit, preferably a coon of said
Condition 2 (Fugitive Dust Permit):
Staff learned from the Colorado Department of Health
July 17, 1987 that the applicant obtained "Initial
Approval" of her fugitive dust permit (number 86PB282F)
from the CDOH September 23, 1986• Final Approval of the
permit first requires an on-site inspection by Mr. Emmet
Hance (Pueblo City-County Health Department). Mr. Hance
hopes to make that inspection this month. In the meantime,
the applicant must provide the Department of Planning and
Develonment with a cony of the "Initial Aonroval."
Condition 3
This condition does not require any action between the
applicant and this department, it only requires action
between the applicant and the mine operator(s), i.e.,
insuring that their crushing/screening equipment is covered
by a valid emissions permit,
