David Berry
October 8, 1990
Page Three
MLRD CONCERN:
Surface Water~-
1. The data for site 1002 (Fish Creek) indicate no flow on September 7 and
September 11, yet a flow of 4.2 cubic feet per second (cfs) was recorded for
September 22. Please explain this apparent discrepancy.
CYCC Response:
Review of our records indicate that the flow recordings in question are accurate. The
flow recorded September 22 may have resulted from factors such as decreased imgation
withdrawals or a precipitation event in the Fish Creek sub-basin.
MLRD CONCERN:
2. Since flow was recorded on September 24, 1989, why was fourth full suite
analysis not conducted?
CYCC Response:
It would appear that the fourth full suite analysis for the site was overlooked due to the
amount of sampling being done for the end of the water year. Every effort has been, and
will be made to ensure that all sampling requirements are met, but isolated incidents such
as this may still occur.
MLRD CONCERN:
3. The following parameters were not analyzed for the September sample at Site 16
(Fish Creek): total suspended solids, SAR, cadmium, mercury, selenium, silver,
iron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc. Please explain the omissions.
CYCC Response:
The September 1990 samples for Sites 16, 800, and 900 were inadvertently analyzed
for the ground water constituent list instead of the surface water constituent list. The
following constituents were not measured:
1. Suspended Solids
2. Silver
3. Zinc
