The average annual precipitation for twelve years of collected data is 12.72 inches. Precipitation for 2003 was 9.53 inches, which is well below the normal amount for the third consecutive year. Vegetation production increased slightly in 2003 with production higher than in years 2001 and 2002. This increase was due to above normal average precipitation in the fall of 2002. September precipitation was above normal and the month of October's precipitation was average. The spring months of March and June of 2003 had above normal precipitation allowing vegetation adequate moisture for growth. However, precipitation for the remainder of the year was lower than average restricting vegetation growth. 30
