process control analyses. Chloride levels were measured on the pregnant liquor three times <br /> <br />per iweive-hour shift and patch tests were run once per shift to measure insolubles. Pests were <br />controlled with the use of two UV bug lights, rodent traps placed around the inside perimeter of <br />the plant, and an ultrasonic bird repeller in the warehouse. Semi-annual GMP/sanitation <br />training was provided for all employees. Mr. Frank Szostek, food safety auditor with AIB <br />International, performed the annual sanitation audit and the audit resulted in an "excellent" <br />rating. FDA, NSF, Kosher, and ISO certification was obtained for Natural Soda Inc. <br />4.1.3 Process <br />• <br />A new water softener was installed specifically for the two 800 horsepower Cleaver Brooks <br />boilers. Anew air dryer was installed to ensure dry air to packaging, bag houses and other <br />uses in the plant. A backup Ingersoll-Rand air compressor was installed. A backup barren <br />pump was installed. New barren, #2 and #t3 heat exchangers were installed (see Figure 41 for <br />process flow sheet). <br />4.1.4 Utilities <br />There were no changes in 2003 made to the current utility configuration or capacity. <br />4.1.5 Buildings <br />I . <br />A 36 x 38 foot steel building was constructed around the boilers in 2003. <br />9 <br />
