was the re-issuance of the UIC Permit. Significant modification of the permit and statement of <br />basis was finalized December 4th. In conjunction with the re-issuance, an aquifer exception <br />was issued for the L-5 zone. Also the EPA issued a "Rule Authorization" for Class V Disposal <br />System for Sanitary Waste Only. <br />All permits (air, water, and reclamation) were transferred from White River Nahcolite Minerals to <br />Natural Soda, Inc. The storm water annual report was submitted. <br />Two undesirable event reports were filed in 2003 as a result of a plugged process discharge <br />line to process pond and a pipeline leak near the "cross over" when the line was opened to <br />install a blind. Two undesirable event reports were filed in 2002. No undesirable event reports <br />were filed in 2001. The State Division of Water Resources issued a Notice of Apparent <br />• Noncompliance August 2003. After reviewing records the Division notified NSI that well permits <br />were filed properly and notice of noncompliance was rescinded. Twelve site inspections ~by the <br />BLM, one inspection by the EPA, and one inspection by the DMG were performed. <br />3.1.4 Proaosed 2004 Activities and Schedule <br />Processing <br />Natural Soda Inc. anticipates production of approximately 100,000 tons of product in 2004 <br />from cavities #1A, 5H, 6H, and possible a new cavity #7H. Construction of a warehouse to <br />replace the leased Rifle warehouse is planned. Installation of a metal detector on the super <br />sacker is planned.
