This certification covers the period
of time from the last certification, June 17, 1986, to completion of revegetation
October 25, 1986. I, Larry M. Reschke, P.E. continued to be Project Engineer
for this period of time.
The work done during this period of time was as follows: completed 4' of
cover, completed rock placement around the toe, installed a drain around
the toe and completed seeding and mulching.
At the end of the 1985 construction season a small area at the south end
of the middle bench remained to be covered with 4' of alluvium. This cover
placement was completed between June 26 and July 9, 1986. Material for this
cover was moved from a new pond being constructed at the south end of the
bench. A D-8 dozer was used to place the approximately 1500 c.y. of material.
No topsoil was placed on the alluvium. Diagram 2 is attached to show the
final contours.
The remaining rock toe was completed once access was no longer needed to
the bench outslope. This work included placement of rock in a 20' segment
at the south end and a 40' segment at the north end.
The underdrains were connected with a ditch around the toe July 11, 1986.
This ditch was also designed to collect runoff from the bench outslope and
transfer it to the new pond at the south end of the bench.
Seeding, fertilizing, mulching and netting was done on the area where new
cover was placed in 1986 during the third week in October 1986. Attached
is a copy of the shrub seed mix used. The seed was broadcast at a rate of
25#/acre. Fertilizer was applied at a rate of 100#/acre for 18-46-0 fertilizer
and 50#/acre ammonia sulfate. Oat straw was applied and netted at a rate
of 1.5 tons/acre.
