SBHIBIT S RECLAMATION PLAN The reclamation of the site will consist of ponds as water storage reservoirs. These ponds will be sealed from the groundwater to prevent any leakage of groundwater into the pond. Water. can then be stored in the pond for later use. The Reclamation Plan proposes construction of a dike between Cell A and B made of overburden material. This dike will allow a greal:er amount of water storage on the whole site by controlling the water between the cells. A culvert will be installed 1n the dike to allow excess water from Cell A to flow into Cell B. The formation of ponds in this area will enhance the wildlife habitat presently found in the riparian riverbank area. The northwest corner of the site contains an area of tree stumps. These: stumps will be dragged down below the water level in Cell B for i`.ish habitat. Side slopes will be in the accepted 3~1 and 2.1 configuration. Overburden stockpiles will he seeded with wheatgraes if they remain longer than one growing season. The coining operation will consume from 6 to 10 acres each year. Reclamation will be done along the shoreline immediately following the mining. Stripping ahead of the mining will disturb no more than 3 acres at any one time. The Soil Conservation Service has been consulted and they have provided information on reclamation and a seeding mix. Their letter is included at the end of this exhibit. The following remarks are in response to Rule 6, Reclamation Performance Standards. 6.1 Grading a) Grading will be carried out to create a topography appropriate to the final land use, which is a water reservoir. b) Grading will be continuous and uniform, and will be performed to minimize erosion and siltation. Land outside of the disturbed area will not be affected by mining operations. There will be no highwalls left on this site. Slopes will be no steeper than 3~1 above water and ten feet below water with 2~1 slopes in water deeper than ten feet. E-1
