T
FIRST HALF 2000 SUBSIDENCE SURVEY REPORT
1. Survey Data:
During the first half of 2000, subsidence survey data was collected periodically from
established monuments on the Hayden-Gore Pass, Wolcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC) and
Western Area Power Administration power lines, and Middle Creek in areas underlain by
gate roads or panel centers during periods of mining in the 3-Right longwall panel. As is
reflected in the data and on the attached subsidence map, the 3-Right longwall panel did
not directly undermine the Union Pacific Railroad, Rotttt County Road No. 33 and Foidel
Creek during the first half of 2000.
The data and frequency for the survey monuments along the Wolcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC),
Western Area Power Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines are presented in
the attached Table Nos. 1 through 6.
Middle Creek was surveyed in July 2000. A profile of the creek showing the subsidence
effects due to the mining of the 3-Right longwall panel is ariaclted as part of this report.
Il. Structures:
Structures affected during the first half of 2000 reporting period include the Wolcott Tap-
Wolcott (PSC), Western Area Power AdminisVation and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines.
The Union Pacific Railroad, Routt County Road No. 33 and Foidel Creek were not
undermined during the first half of 2000.
Visual inspections of the Wolcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC), Western Area Power
Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines were conducted concurrent with the
surveys of the power poles from January 4, 2000 through August 7, 2000. The bracing on
the NW corner of structure H63B was starting to bow on July 27, 2000. On August 5,
2000, hairline cracks were found on the foundation of structure H63B. No other
significant damage to the structures was noted during this period. No repair work was
required as a result of TCC's mining activity.
III. Man:
The monitoring locations for the first half of 2000 are shown on the First half of 2000,
Subsidence Map. The map also indicates the location of the longwall face on a monthly
basis.
2000_1 StHalfSubReport.doc Page 1 oft 08/17/00
