1. Permanent Seeding Accomplished and all native vegetation seed mixture was
planted in Mazch 2005
2. Permanent Seeding Accomplished on this area. All natural vegetation seed
mixture was planted in March 2005.
Temporary Seeding Accomplished on this visual berm with all natural vegetation
seed mixture in March of 2005. This berm had been previously seeded with the
native seed mix, but was overwhelmed by cereal ryegrass. Stope on the berm was
lessened so machinery could safely be negotiated and subsequently mowed. It is
uncertain whether this berm will be permanent or will be removed during final
reclamation.
4. Temporary Seeding with atl native vegetation seed was accomplished in March
2005 on this topsoil and clay storage azea. This area had been previously seeded,
but suffered of severe cereal rye infestation. The area was mowed in February
2005 and again in July 2005 in order to eliminate the contamination. Upcoming
spraying will occur to further control cereal rye growth, and the area will be
continually monitored to prevent future infestation.
Temporary Seeding Acwmplished. This area was originally seeded in 2001, but
was overwhelmed with cereal rye infestation shortly thereafter. The area was
mowed in Febnaary of 2005 and again in July 2005 in order to eliminate further
cereal rye growth. Area is scheduled for spraying in order to completely kill
cereal rye in the upwming yeaz. The area will be monitored and continually up
kept in order to prevent future cereal rye growth.
6. Temporary Accomplished Seeding on graded pit backfill. Area was ripped to a
depth of IZ inches and was seeded with aii native vegetation. The temporary seed
mix was sown into the ReGreen standing dead in late fall 2004. Area was atso
mowed in order to prevent cereal rye from setting seed.
7. Undisturbed Area. This is the location of the power plant and the area was never
disturbed by quarry activities.
8. Permanent Accomplished on crusher platform northwest outslope. The area was
mowed in order to prevent cereal rye from setting seed. It was seeded in 2001.
9. Permanent Accomplished on the south end of"limestone ridge." This will be
continually monitored for weed problems and the need to be mowed.
10. Permanent Accomplished at very tip of south "limestone ridge " Area was ripped
6 inches to relieve possible soil compaction ,and approximately 6 inches of
growth medium was brought from elsewhere to topdress the area.
