Construction <br />595 Taylor Street <br />Craig, CO 81625 <br />Attn: Mr. Bud Bower <br />Job No. 95-2296 <br />Subject: Quarterly Inspection Report, Waste Coal <br />Area, Foidel Creek Mine, Rout[ County, Colorado. <br />Gentlemen, <br />iiiiiiiiiiiiiiuiii <br />As requested, Northwest Colorado Consultants, Inc. has prepared this letter outlining our inspections <br />made during the third quarter of 1996 a[ the Waste Coal Area, which is located at the Foidel Creek <br />Mine in Routt County, Colorado. <br />We visited [he project site on a part-time basis to observe, inspect and test the compaction of the waste <br />coal materials placed in this azea. <br />The areas in which the contractor was spreading and compacting the waste coal is generally situated in <br />the southeast corner of the Waste Coal Area and [he eastern edge of the north half of the pile. <br />Based on our observations made during our visits and the compaction tests taken on the compacted fill <br />materials, it appears [ha[ [he waste coal materials are being placed in general accordance with [he <br />project plans and specifications. However, several failing tests were recorded during our visits and [he <br />contractor was advised [o rework these failing areas, prior to placing any additional materials.
