Box 310
San Luis, CO 81152
Re Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. -
Tailings Impoundment Construction
Phase II Raise I Geomembrane Liner
Dear Mr. Young,

San Luis Project
It is my understanding that Battle Mountain Resources, Inc (BMRI)
would like to utilize Serrot's VLDPE liner for the remainder of the
Phase II expansion Rather than Gundle's VLDPE liner. Serrot's liner
will be between 50-60 mil in thickness rather than the 40 mil
thickness specified. As long as the proposed liner (Serrot) for use
meets or exceeds the minimum property values, except thickness,
specified in the project Construction Specifications this change
meets with my approval as the engineer of record.
From a technical standpoint, the proposed liner should have a
greater puncture resistance, higher percent elongation at yield and
failure, increased seam strength, and decreased seepage potential,
all of which will result in an increase in the containment
potential for the facility. If you should have any further
questions or comments regarding this issue in the future, feel free
to give me a call at any time.
Sincerely,
Steffen Robertson & Kirsten (US) Inc.
~G~~~
David S.
