• The total acreage summary and relative status of the acreage is graphically <br />illustrated on the following page. The acreage changes for 2001 can be <br />summarized as follows: <br />• The focus of the 2001 reclamation effort was on reworking and reseeding <br />a previously "revegetated" area of 12.6 acres near Sediment Pond 2. <br />• A 3.9 acre parcel at the southeast corner of B-Pit was reclaimed, but not <br />revegetated. <br />• The total area reclaimed and revegetated did not change during 2001. <br />Additional Reclamation Information: <br />The tota1455.8 acres disturbed by the Keenesburg Mine coal extraction <br />operation can presently be assigned to one of the following catagories: <br />^ Acreage in previously active mining areas (presently being <br />reclaimed) = 56.4 <br />^ Acreage backfilled and graded (ready for topsanding and <br />• seeding, or previously seeded and growing) =225.4 <br />^ Acreage designated as long term mining or reclamation <br />facilities (includes Access Road and SAE's) =174.0 <br />The number of acres to receive topsand in 2001 was 3.9, bringing the total <br />acreage to receive topsand since reclamation activities began, to <br />approximately 226 acres. Since no new acreage was revegetated during <br />2001, the total number of acres seeded or planted remains at approximately <br />221.5 acres.
