BOX 2 7 62 <br />DURANGO.COLORADO 61302 <br />September 23, 1991 <br />TO: National King Coal, Inc. <br />SUBJECT: Quarterly Subsidence Monitoring, Third Quarter, 1991 <br />1) The third quarterly visual inspection for subsidence, King <br />Coal Mine, La Plata County, Colorado was made on a bi-weekly <br />basis from July 1991 through September 1991. <br />2) No new fracturing has occurred in SW; SEa NE; Sec. 31, <br />T35N, R11W. <br />3) No new fracturing has occurred in the S'~ NW4 Sec. 32, T35N, <br />R11W. <br />9) No new fracturing has occurred in the N'~ SWa Sec. 32, T35N, <br />R11W. <br />5) Fracturing in the SE; SE; Sec. 31, T35N, R11W has continued <br />and now extends from a point over the SW corner of Mining Section <br />no. 3 West, in a ENE arc approximately 1250'. This is the probable <br />maximum limit of fracturing. Downward movement of approximately <br />0.1' was noted, and photographed, on the north side. No drainages <br />or man made structures are threatened. <br />6) No other evidence of subsidence was noted during surface in- <br />spections this quarter. <br />7) The permanent surface subsidence monitoring map has been up- <br />dated showing subsidence features observed by this investigation. <br />ed M. .oh son, C.P.G. <br />
