~''
RULE 2.41(7): ESTIMATES OF THE LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES
TO BE AFFECTED IN THE COMING YEAR.
During the next year, it is not expected [he operation
will change much from this pear. More extraction will occur
in the dike under the Castle Concrete permit for the Sand
Pit. Some additional work may occur along the highway. It
is also expected that Area B will expand a little more as
well as the extraction in Area E. The extent of the work is
impossible to predict at this time. It will depend largely
on whether the construction industry in Colorado Springs
recovers in 1989. At this time, the economic
prognosticators are concerned about a continuing poor
economy for 1989. If this is the case, it is expected that
the amount of sand mined will be fairly small, probably no
more than was mined this year. This would translate into
virtually no change in the aerial extent of the disturbances
as shown on last year's map.
ANNUAL REPORT MAP: No annual report map is submitted this
year because the changes which occurred in the operation and
the affected lands was so slight the maps would appear to be
essentially identical. The only area which would have
changed is the settling pond on the extreme west end of the
operation on the west side of Academy Boulevard. It was not
considered useful to prepare all new annual report maps to
show just this change. Therefore, for the locations of the
various activities described in this report, please refer to
the annual report maps in the 1987-1988 annual report.
FILE 73-7 ANNUAL REPORT - 1988/1989 PAGE 5 OF 5
