However, a National Weather Service <br />meteorological station is located in Hayden, Colorado, approximately 1.5 miles north of the Loadout <br />fadlities azea. The Hayden station (ID: 053867) has a monthly climatic period of record from 1931 <br />through 2006. However, the monthly climatic data statistics are generated using the period from <br />January 1948 through Octobu 2006 (www.wrcc.dri.edu, 2007). <br />Precipitation falls throughout the year with the most significant precipitation occurring as rain during <br />the spring and fall months. The climatic data statistics show that the mean annual precipitation for <br />Hayden is 17.05 inches. The annual precipitation recorded during 2006 was 18.30 inches (however, <br />there is no data posted for December as of the date of this report [www.wrcc.dri.edu, 2007J). The <br />monthly precipitation was above average for January and Mazch, and then July through October - <br />monthly precipitation was below average for February and April, and then the summer growing season <br />months of May and June. The average annual snowfall in Hayden, Colorado is approximately 113 <br />inches. <br />The average mean annual temperature at Hayden is 42,8 degrees Faluenheit (°F). The average <br />minimum temperature for the period January 1948 through October 2006 is 27.4°F and the average <br />maximum temperature is 58.0°F. The mean annual temperature during 2006 was 44.3°F, which is <br />above the long-term average.
