Mareh 2007 Hayden Gukh Loadout - 2000Annuat Hydrology Aeport ~ Page 1 <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />The information assembled in this 2006 Annual Hydrology Report (AHR) includes data collected from <br />the hydrologic monitoring sites Eor the 200G calendaz yeaz at Hayden Gulch Terminal, Inc.'s (HGTI) <br />Hayden Gulch Loadout (T.oadout) facility, which is permitted by the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety (CDRMS) under Mine and Reclamation Permit No. C-92-081. 'The <br />AHR has been prepared and submitted in accordance with Rule 4.05.13(4)(c). <br />Locations of the hydrologic monitoring sites aze shown on Figure 1, Monitoring Site Locatianr. <br />Hydrologic monitoring is performed for surface water, groundwater and Colorado Wastewater <br />Discharge Permit System (CDPS) outfalls. In addition, the sediment impoundments aze inspected <br />quazterly in accordance with Rule 4.05.9(1. Watu monitoring requirements for the Loadout aze <br />Eound in Tab 13 of the existing, valid Mining and Reclamation Pertnit (renewal date of May 2003). <br />Two surface water sampling sites, HGSDl and HGSD3, aze located on Dry Creek upstream and <br />downstream of the primary disturbance azea, respectively. Two groundwater monitor wells, HGDAL3 <br />and HGDAL4, aze completed in the Dry Creek alluvial system. HGDAL3 is located downstream of <br />the primary disturbance azea. Monitor well HGDAL4, which is located upstream of the disturbance <br />area, was installed in November 2005. This well was installed to address CDRMS concerns regazding <br />background alluvial water quality upstream of the Loadout facility. <br />Surface water and groundwater monitoring at the Loadout occurs on asemi-annually basis, once <br />during spring runoff conditions (April through June) and once during fall low Elow conditions <br />(typically during October or November). CPDS monitoring was conducted weekly during the <br />snowmelt runoff season (Mazch, April and May) and at a minimum of monthly during the remaining <br />months. <br />In accordance with Secton 25-9-101, et seq., C.R.S., the sedimentation ponds at the Loadout facility, <br />which serve as a wastewater handling system, aze operated under the supervision of a certified <br />industrial wastewater system operator. Hydro-Environmental staff includes a certified Level D <br />operator. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environmen[ (CDPHE) certified that <br />HGTI was in full compliance with Section 25-9-101, et seq., C.R.S. on June 30, 2004. <br />Hydro-Environmental Solutions, Inc. <br />P.O.
