INTRODUCTION
The reclamation costs have been calculated for the various phases of
land affected (or to be affected) at the Eagle Pit owned and operated by
the Nottingham Sand & Gravel Company. The Eagle Pit is located
approximately two (2) miles west of Eagle, Colorado, just south of U.S.
Highways 6 and 24. These costs have been estimated on actual volumes ,
distances , areas , and time expected to be required to complete each of
the reclamation functions.
The reclamation functions include the following:
(1) Grading
(2) Scarifying the Graded Surface
(3) Topsoil Replacement
(4) Soil Testing and Fertilizing
(5) Seeding and Mulching
(6) Miscellaneous
Equipment, labor, and other miscellaneous costs have been included for
reference. Equipment costs are based on the rates in the Rental Pate
Blue Book for Construction Equipment. All supporting calculations and
assumptions for reclamation costs are included. For calculation
purposes, specific manufacturers and equipment models are cited.
Nottingham Sand & Gravel Company has projected the appropriate sizing of
equipment, actual manufacturer, and specific equipment models for
reclamation work.
The various phases of reclamation are shown on the Eagle Reclamation
Map. The areas are:
(1) Planned West Mining Area
(2) Present Mining Area
(3) Existing Settling Pond
(4) Current Stockpile Area
-1-
