Permit ~-Y'
No. M-1983_:033, Annual Report ~}~~{er)
Our files indicate that the anniversary date for this permit is
June 23. This pit aAS xox been granted a Temporary Cessation and it s).s
operated more than 160 days this year. The Financial Warranty for
this operation was reviewed in 2005 and at $741,500 was determined to
be adequate. The permitted area is 292.07 ac. t and the pit is
divided into 6 Reclamation Phases. A sign that conforms with rule
3.1.12 3xc;xs nxn MARR8R5 is at the entrance to the quarry on the scale
house. Please refer to the 2005-06 Annual Report Map for the location
of areas discussed in this report. This is a quarry operation, as a
result we remove large amounts of material without disturbing large
areas of land.
We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report require-
ments as outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations, and the
annual notice letter.
(1) Total disturbance to date in Stage I remains at 86.87 acres t.
We mined deeper along the face this year lowering benches and
have begun to-mine in part of the area'atripped last year. The
upper 5 benches in the eastern part of the mined area have been
completed and 6.54 acres of that area was seeded last summer
(green). As the face moved east more floor area was created.
The current face area covers approximately 50.66 acres t (brown).
Mining continued on the area previously stripped in Phase I, this
includes the floor area (orange}, and the working face (brown).
We have continued to retain fill in the secondary access corridor
as approved in the plan and a second topsoil storage pile was
established north of the mined area that covers 11,92 acres t
(yellow).
(2) The upper 5 benches covering 6.54 acres that will remain undis-
turbed from this time forward. They were seeded last summer and
are beginning their second growing season (green).
