' Banks and Gesso, LLC
' 5.3 Temporary Concrete Batch Plant
The temporary concrete batch plant will be located in Area 1. The plant will not
exceed 40 feet in height and will be painted in an earth tone color (e.g. beige or
tan). Associated with the batch plant will be a hopper and conveyor to feed raw
' materials into the plant, and storage of various chemicals and additives used in
making concrete. The plant will be equipped with a dust collection system.
The portable, temporary concrete batch plant will operate on the property on a
project by project basis. It is not a permanent plant, it is completely mobile and
will only be on the site approximately twenty percent of the time, averaged over
' the life of the mine.
5.4 Outdoor Vehicle Parking and Construction Equipment Storage
'
Concrete mixer trucks, sand and gravel trucks and other vehicles will be parked
on the property, mostly in and around the existing buildings. Construction
equipment, related to ASCI's business will be stored in the area indicated on the
Site Plan Map. Just e<3st of the equipment storage area, along Old Brighton
Road. A landscaped screening berm will be constructed to minimize views of the
storage area.
5.5 Concrete Recycling
'
Hardened, broken slabs of concrete and curbs from ASCI
s job sites will be
hauled to the property for recycling. Also, unused concrete in returning mixer
' trucks will be allowed to harden, and will then be crushed and recycled.
Crushing of recycled concrete will occur approximately two times per year.
Concrete stockpiles and recycled material stockpiles shall not exceed 30 feet in
height. The stockpile and recycling areas are shown on the Site Plan Map.
5.6 Office and Maintenance Facilities
1
The existing residence on the property will be used as an office. Existing
hangars and storage buildings will be used as maintenance facilities and for
indoor storage of some[ of the equipment and supplies necessary to carry out the
operation.
5.7 Spill Prevention, Containment and Control
' The existing topography on the subject property naturally directs storm-water
northwest, towards the South Platte River. This pattern will continue, with minor
exceptions. The disturbed areas in Area 1, between the river and the mining
' areas will be gently regraded to direct storm-water in this area back into the pit.
Adequate sedimentation and clarification will occur in the de-watering systems,
prior to any discharge to the river.

Speer Mining Resource is 99035
Asphalt Specialties Company, Inc July 24, 2000
