- Page 7 -
I) Population
There will only be a very minimal impact on population as a gravel
pit typically operates only part time and employes only three to
five individuals. At times of maximum production, there will
probably be jobs created for twenty to twenty-five employees .
SUMMARY
In summary, there are certain short term negative environmental
impacts associated with a gravel pit. The major negative impacts
are visual, air quality and noise. As discussed, in the appropri-
ate headings, these impacts have been and will continue to be
mitigated as much as possible and are certainly within acceptable
levels.
Positive impacts to Eagle County include:
1) Utilization of a natural resource without long term
negative impacts
2) Creation of jobs for Eagle County residents, both
directly and indirectly
• 3) Money earned through this operation will return to Eagle
County as the owners are long time Eagle County residents
4) Increase competition in gravel, concrete and asphalt,
thereby reducing costs to County residents
•
