II <br />1 <br />' archaeological and above ground (non-archaeological) historic <br />architectural/engineering resources in the Study Area. <br />I ' Southdown submitted these initial surveys to the Colorado <br />Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation during 1990 and <br />' 1993. The SHPO staff concurred on findings of eligibility relating <br />to the National Register of Historic Places. <br />t Further discussions with SHPO staff and Boulder County held on <br />May 19, 1993, led to the following decisions about the cultural <br />resources at Dowe Flats: <br />' 1. A Cultural Resources Management Plan (CRMP) would be <br />written establishing the steps and processes to be followed during <br />' the life of the mine for historic, archaeological, historic <br />archaeological and paleontological resources management (this <br />' document). <br />2. Consultation with American Indian tribes/tribal government <br />' representatives identified by the Colorado Commission on Indian <br />Affairs would be undertaken. Results of those consultations are <br />' incorporated into the CRMP. <br />3. Review of ethnographic and ethnohistoric literature to <br />' identify, if applicable, any traditional Indian cultural properties <br />in the Dowe Flats area was to be completed. <br />' 4. Develop a monitoring plan for the Montgomery School <br />5. SHPO and Boulder County policies for dissemination of <br />information about cultural resources would be followed at the Dowe <br />Flats site. <br />6. The proponent would consult with the Tri-Lakes Office of <br />the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. <br />7. The proponent would use the NHPA 106 process as a model for <br />' project review, comment, mitigation and other related activities. <br /> <br />' 8 <br /> <br />
