All surface water stations were inspected and recorded weekly as per
the permit terms and conditions. Inspection dates were 03/05/03, 03/14/03, 03/21/03, and
03/28/03 as represented by the attached field log report copies. These inspections and
recordings identified readings at RS-I as either zero (0) or snow covered; RS-2, RS-3 and
RS-5 as zero (0) inches; and RS-4 and RS-6 as dry. The monthly precipitation
accumulation for March was 0.266 inches, with the largest accumulation (i.e., 0.15")
occurring on March 22"`~.
Vacuum on the tailing lysimeters was verified on March 28a', no water was present for
sampling and subsequent analysis as represented on the attached field log report copies.
Depths to water were collected for the tailing impoundment main embankment and West
Pit piezometers/monitoring wells on March 3151 as represented on the attached field log
report copies. The March 28`h tailing impoundment piezometer measurements identified
these installations were either dry or contained less than 12 inches of water as illustrated
in Table 2. Tables 1 and 2 below identify the depth to water measurements collected for
each of the site monitoring wells, piezometers and lysimeters.
The tailing impoundment collection pond underdrain flow was pumped intermittently
during the month to minimize the collection pond level. The leak detection system was
measured on March 28`h. The March collection pond underdrain flow average was 51.56
gpm and a total of 250 gallons of water was excavated from the leak detection
P.O.
