L)MG Permit No. M-58-1 12 <br />January Monthly Sampling <br />Dear Mr. Dillie: <br />All required sampling was completed during the month of January. <br />FEB 0 9 2001 <br />Division of Minerals and GeoloAY <br />The NANO/RO water plant operated intermittently during [he month. A total of 10,181,500 gallons <br />of water was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of January. <br />All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. <br />Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. <br />When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailing impoundment on <br />1131/Ol, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. <br />The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 1/29/01, with the following <br />result: BF-I was 31.90 ft and BF-2 was 32.30 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were <br />also checked with the following result PW-1 was 29.09 ft. PVr-2 was 29.43 ft- PW-3 was 36J6 ft <br />and PW-4 was 31.69 ft. <br />The underdrain was measured at approximately 34 gpm. <br />On 1/22/01 an attempt was made to pump the collection pond leak detection system.
