The twenty-one solid source samples were collected from the 12 lazgest mine
dumps in the district. The samples were collected from Q6 inches for most sources, however, a hand
auger was used at select locations to obtain a sample from 12-24 inches. Sample locations are illustrated
on Figttres 2 and 3. The samples were analyzed for total metals and the results are summarized in Table
7. Elevated concentrations (as described in Section 3.0) aze highlighted.
18 out of 23 metals were found to be present at elevated concentrations at one or more locations. The
significant metals present are summarized below. In the calculation of average concentrations, if the
analyze was not detected a value equivalent to one-half the detection limit was used.
Creede Mining District Solid Source Samples
(concentrations in milligrams per kitognm)
Mulyte Avenge
Background Avenge
Sourte Nighesl
Sourte Isation
Highest Sourte

0

s

4
