Comprchensire Analytical Ruults Report
Fist and W est W i-ow Creek
Water Quality Control Division (WQCD). The system consists of a limestone drain installed inside the
portal of the Solomon adit and a construc[ed, sulfate reducing wetlands comprised of three cells in series.
Samples taken in 1992 found that the drainage from the Solomon adit above the PMDTS contained 180
ug/L cadmium and 23,000 ug/L zinc, while the effluent had 1.1 ug/L cadmium and 730 ug/L zinc,
'indicating that the PMDTS was successfully removing metals at that time. For a more complete discussion
f of the site characteristics, site history, and previous investigations, the reader is referred to the Preliminary
~.
~ Assessments (CDPHE, 1995a and 1995b).
~-_- _-
~~
~-- ~
:~
3.0 DATA VALIDATION AND INTERPRETATION
The laboratory acquired data were validated by the EPA Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT).
Validation reports and laboratory data forms cari be found in Appendix B. The analytical results,
qualifiers, and interpretations are presented m Tables 2 through 7. The following data qualifiers were
assigned:
• "U" -The analyze was not detected. (Qualified by laboratory software).
• "J" -The assigned value is an estimate because the quality control criteria were not met.
• "UJ" -The analyze was not detected and the reported value is estitated because the quality control
criteria were not met.
• "B" -The analyze was detected at a level below the contract required detection limit (CRDL) but
above the method detection limit (MDL), therefore the associated value is an estimate. The
presence of the compound is reliable.
• "BJ" -The value is estimated because the analyze was detected at a concentration below the CRDL
and because the quality control criteria were not met.
• "R" -The da[a are rejected.
Nitrate/nitri[e results were all rejected due to poor matrix spike (MS) and matrix spike duplicate (MSD)
percent recoveries. Analyzes present at elevated concentrations are highlighted in the summary tables. A
3
